Are ETFs and CEFs Good Dividend Growth Investments?
Investing in dividend growth stocks is not about buying high-yield stocks to generate a high income. Instead, this form of dividend investing is all about finding solid dividend growth stocks that are reasonably priced and are expected to continue raising their dividends in the future. Most of the time their current yields aren't eye-popping, but the growing divdends over time will more than compensate for the lower current yield.

Below are several companies building future yield with increased cash dividends for their shareholders:

6 Companies With The Power of 5/15 Dividend Growth
As a kid I loved math. Unlike classic literature where I had to correctly interpret symbolism that I rarely ever noticed, math was one of the few subjects that had a definitive answer - it was either right or wrong. I took great comfort in that. Investing in dividend growth stocks takes advantage of certain undeniable math principles.

7 Dividend Stocks Building Superior Long-Term Returns With Increased Cash Dividends
Investing in Dividend Stocks is a long-term strategy. Frequent buying and selling of dividend stocks can significantly increase your expenses and taxes, thus lowering your returns. A growing dividend is a strong indication of a company's increasing intrinsic value. Great companies that increase dividends tend to have rising share prices over time. Holding only first-rate businesses protects your dividend stream and helps provide for steady price appreciation.

9 High Rated, Lower Debt Dividend Stocks With A Reasonable Payout
New income investors naturally focus on yield, but the highest yielding stocks aren't always the best investments. To find the very best dividend growth stocks an investor must identify companies that will not just sustain their dividends, but increase them every year. To find these jewels in the rough, there are two very important things the investor must look for.

8 Stocks Growing Their Cash Dividends
When people learn that I am an income investor, the reaction is often a desire to discuss high-yield investments. Many people commonly confuse income investing with high-yield investing. For me, I will continue to focus on high-quality dividend stocks at lower, but growing, yields.

Dividend Income Progress Update - December 2014
Once again it is time for a goals/progress update. I am pleased to report that annualized dividend income increased in December, extending the streak to 54 consecutive months of increases after June 2010's decline. Since I began publicly tracking annualized dividend income in November 2007, it has increased in 83 of the last 85 months.
My goals were defined in this December 1, 2007 Investing Goals post and last updated in my 2014 Investing Goals post. Below is an updated version of the table found in the original post.

Premium Portfolio Changes
When it comes to investing, I have always liked to experiment with different approaches in an effort to maximize income/return. A prime example of this is my Experimental High-Risk, High-Yield Portfolio, which closed 2014 with a current yield of 5.4% (6.5% yield on cost) and finished just a tad under the S&P 500 with a total return of 14.4%.
