May 2015 Progress Report

Once again it is time for a goals/progress update. I am pleased to report that annualized dividend income increased in May, extending the streak to 59 consecutive months of increases after June 2010's decline.

Since I began publicly tracking my progress in November 2007, annualized dividend income has increased in 88 of the last 90 months.

Beginning next month, I will start reporting on progress based on my entire income portfolio. Why the change? As it stands now, my Dividend Growth Portfolio is over-allocated. If I were to sell a portion of the portfolio and transfer it to another portfolio (High-Yield, High-Growth, Debt/Preferred, etc.), the portfolio's income would suffer a decline when in fact the decline was nothing more than an allocation out. Ultimately, what matters is growing total income from all portfolios.

I did not start tracking total income until September 2012, so that will be my base period. Since September 2012 when I began tracking total income, annualized dividend income has increased in 33 of the last 33 months.
