While Some Stocks Cut Their Dividends, These 11 Stocks Raisied Theirs
Most investors are not surprised when a company cuts its dividend. They see the early warning signs well in advance of the actual cut. Here are three signs that a company is heading toward a dividend cut:
1.) An abrupt or permanent shift in a company’s business model as a result of business conditions.
2.) A dividend yield that is higher than average and/or higher than others in the industry.
3.) Diminishing cash available to pay dividends.
Ultimately, the ability of a company to pay its dividend is determined by its cash position – both cash on its balance sheet and its ability to generate cash flow. Below are several companies that are NOT cutting their dividends, but instead raising them:

March 2016 Progress Report
Once again it is time for a goals/progress update. I am pleased to report that annualized dividend income increased in January, extending the streak to 42 consecutive months of increases. As noted in the June 19, 2015 post, in July 2015 I changed to reporting on total dividend income instead of just income from my Dividend Growth Portfolio.
Since I began tracking my total income progress, annualized dividend income has increased in 42 of the last 42 months.

Your Greatest Wealth Building Asset
You may think your greatest wealth building asset is the stock that has appreciated more than 15% from the beginning of the year and pays you a 3% dividend. Even though that stock has treated you kindly for the last several years, it is not your greatest wealth building asset.
The traditionalist would say your home is your greatest wealth building asset. This is getting closer, but it is not your greatest wealth building asset.
