13 Stocks Growing Future Yield With Increased Dividends

Yield does not come without a price, usually in the form of added risk and/or complexity. Ultimately, dividend growth investors realize that long-term and sustainable high-yield investments are grown over time. This is accomplished by purchasing high-quality dividend investments with a reasonable yield and a long history of growing their dividends, and waiting for the yield on cost to grow.

Below are several companies planting the seeds for future yield by recently increasing their cash dividends:

Lam Research Corporation (LRCX) is a supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the semiconductor industry. November 18th the company increased its quarterly dividend 50% to $0.45 per share. The dividend is payable January 4, 2017 to stockholders of record on December 14, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of December 12, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.7%.

Brunswick Corporation (BC) is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of recreation products, including marine engines, boats, fitness and active recreation products. November 18th the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.165 per share. The dividend is payable December 15, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 22, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 18, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.4%.

NIKE, Inc. (NKE) is engaged in the design, development, marketing and selling of athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories and services. November 17th the company increased its quarterly dividend 12% to $0.18 per share. The dividend is payable January 3, 2017 to stockholders of record on December 5, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of December 1, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.4%.

Union Pacific Corporation (UNP) operates through its principal operating company, Union Pacific Railroad Company. November 17th the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.605 per share. The dividend is payable December 29, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 30, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 28, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.5%.

EPR Properties (EPR) is a self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company's investment portfolio includes entertainment, education and recreation properties. November 17th the company increased its quarterly dividend 5.8% to $0.32 per share. The dividend is payable December 15, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 30, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 28, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 5.7%.

Sysco Corporation (SYY) is a distributor of food and related products primarily to the foodservice or food-away-from-home industry. November 16th the company increased its quarterly dividend 6.5% to $0.33 per share. The dividend is payable January 27, 2017 to stockholders of record on January 6, 2017, with an ex-dividend date of January 4, 2017. The yield based on the new payout is 2.5%.

Everest Re Group, Ltd. (RE) provides reinsurance and insurance products. November 16th the company increased its quarterly dividend 8.7% to $1.25 per share. The dividend is payable December 14, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 30, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 28, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.4%.

Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) is the roaster, marketer and retailer of specialty coffee. The Company purchases and roasts coffees that it sells, along with coffee, tea and other beverages, and a range of fresh food items, through Company-operated stores. November 15th the company increased its quarterly dividend 25% to $0.25 per share. The dividend is payable December 2, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 17, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 15, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.5%.

Oshkosh Corporation (OSK) is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of a range of specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies, including access equipment, defense trucks and trailers, fire and emergency vehicles, concrete mixers and refuse collection vehicles. November 15th the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.21 per share. The dividend is payable December 1, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 17, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 15, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.6%.

Columbia Sportswear Company (COLM) is an apparel and footwear company. The Company designs, sources, markets and distributes outdoor and active lifestyle apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment under the Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel, prAna and other brands. November 15th the company increased its quarterly dividend 5.9% to $0.18 per share. The dividend is payable December 1, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 17, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 15, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.2%.

Westpac Banking Corporation (WBK) is a banking organization that provides banking and financial services in markets, including consumer, business and institutional banking and wealth management services. November 15th the company increased its quarterly dividend 2.2% to $0.7123 per share. The dividend is payable January 3, 2017 to stockholders of record on November 14, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 9, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 5.9%.

Encounter Resources Limited (ENR) is an Australia-based exploration and resource development company. November 14th the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.275 per share. The dividend is payable December 15, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 30, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 28, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.5%.

Assurant, Inc. (AIZ) is a provider of specialty protection products and related services. November 14th the company increased its quarterly dividend 6% to $0.53 per share. The dividend is payable December 12, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 28, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 23, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.6%.
