Have you ever wondered just where are all the get-rich-now infomercial millionaires? I know several people who have purchased one or more of these get-rich-now kits, but I don't know of anyone who actually got rich from purchasing the kit. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates didn't build their fortunes with a get-rich-now kit. They worked hard built it steadily over time.
In much the same way, a disciplined approach to investing, such as dividend growth stocks, can be highly effective. Though it may seem boring to many, I find it exciting to see my income growing as the finish line approaches.
Below are several companies building their shareholders' wealth with increased cash dividends:
AT&T (T) recently increased its quarterly dividend 2% to $0.51 per share. The dividend is payable Feb. 1, 2019 to stockholders of record on Jan 10, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Jan 9, 2019. The yield based on the new payout is 6.8%.
Pfizer (PFE) recently increased its quarterly dividend 5.9% to $0.36 per share. The dividend is payable Mar. 1, 2018 to stockholders of record on Feb. 1, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Jan. 31, 2018. The yield based on the new payout is 3.3%.
Realty Income (O) recently increased its quarterly dividend 0.2% to $0.221 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 15, 2019 to stockholders of record on Jan. 2, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Dec. 31, 2018. The yield based on the new payout is 4.0%.
Dominion Energy (D) recently increased its quarterly dividend 9.9% to $0.9175 per share. The dividend is payable March 2019. The yield based on the new payout is 4.8%.
Enbridge (ENB) recently increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.738 per share. The dividend is payable Mar. 1, 2019 to stockholders of record on Feb. 15, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Feb. 14, 2019. The yield based on the new payout is 7.0%.
Ventas (VTR) recently increased its quarterly dividend 0.3% to $0.7925 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 14, 2019 to stockholders of record on Jan. 2, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Dec. 31, 2018. The yield based on the new payout is 4.8%.
Zoetis (ZTS) recently increased its quarterly dividend 30% to $0.164 per share. The dividend is payable Mar. 1, 2019 to stockholders of record on Jan. 18, 2019, with an ex-dividend date of Jan. 17, 2019. The yield based on the new payout is 0.7%.
