Dividend Increases: Stocks Delivering Good News With Higher Dividends

I couldn’t begin to estimate how many different stocks are traded around the world on the various exchanges. Like everything else, there are many participants, but few players. Though the population of stocks may be large, there are only a precious few that are worthy dividend stocks. Increasing dividends is one attribute that separates the good dividend stocks from the rest.

The best dividend stocks in the world consistently raise their dividends. This week these companies chose to step up and reward their investors with higher cash dividends:

Life Storage (LSI) recently increased its quarterly dividend 3.7% to $1.11 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 27 to shareholders of record Jan. 15, with an ex-div date of Jan. 14. The yield based on the new payout is 3.9%.

Jefferies Financial Group (JEF) recently increased its quarterly dividend 33% to $0.20 per share. The dividend is payable Feb. 26 to shareholders of record Feb. 12, with an ex-div date of Feb. 11. The yield based on the new payout is 3.2%.

Alamo (ALG) recently increased its quarterly dividend 7.7% to $0.14 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 29 to shareholders of record Jan. 19, with an ex-div date of Jan. 15. The yield based on the new payout is 0.4%.

MV Oil Trust (MVO) recently increased its quarterly dividend 16% to $0.11 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 25 to shareholders of record Jan. 15, with an ex-div date of Jan. 14. The yield based on the new payout is 13.1%.

Saratoga Investment (SAR) recently increased its quarterly dividend 2.4% to $0.42 per share. The dividend is payable Feb. 10 to shareholders of record Jan. 26, with an ex-div date of Jan. 25. The yield based on the new payout is 7.8%.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) recently increased its quarterly dividend 1.1% to $0.45 per share. The dividend is payable Feb. 11 to shareholders of record Jan. 29; ex-div Jan. 28. The yield based on the new payout is 8.6%.
